While You Wait

What to do right now.

First-aid steps for the most common dental emergencies before you reach our office. Then call (407) 565-3066.

01

Knocked-out tooth

Pick it up by the crown (not the root). Rinse gently with milk or water. If you can, place it back in the socket. Otherwise store it in a cup of milk. Get to us within 30 minutes.

02

Severe toothache

Rinse your mouth with warm salt water. Use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek for swelling. Take over-the-counter ibuprofen if you can. Do not place aspirin directly on the gum.

03

Broken or chipped tooth

Save any pieces you can find. Rinse mouth and the broken piece with warm water. Apply gauze to bleeding for 10 minutes. Use a cold compress for swelling. Avoid chewing on that side.

04

Lost filling or crown

Keep the crown if you have it. You can temporarily place the crown back over the tooth using dental cement from a drugstore (don't use super glue). Avoid hot, cold, or hard foods until seen.

Emergency Dental FAQ

Quick answers when you need them.

How fast can I see an emergency dentist in Orlando?

+

Same day in most cases. Call (407) 565-3066 — we hold appointment slots open every business day specifically for emergency dental patients. Most emergencies are seen within a few hours of your call.

What counts as a dental emergency?

+

Severe or persistent toothache, knocked-out tooth, broken or chipped tooth, lost filling or crown, dental abscess or infection, swollen jaw, bleeding gums that won't stop, and post-procedure pain that's getting worse. When in doubt, call us — we'd rather see you and tell you it's not urgent than miss something serious.

How much does an emergency dentist visit cost?

+

Emergency exams start at $89 (X-ray included). Treatment costs depend on what's needed — but we always give you a transparent written estimate before any work. We accept most insurance including Medicare, and offer 0% financing through CareCredit and Sunbit for qualifying patients.

I knocked out a tooth — what do I do?

+

Time is critical: the tooth has the best chance of being saved within 30 minutes. Pick the tooth up by the crown (not the root), rinse gently with milk or water, and either place it back in the socket or store it in a cup of milk. Call (407) 565-3066 immediately and head to our nearest Orlando location.

Do you treat dental emergencies on weekends?

+

Our offices are closed Saturday and Sunday, but if you call (407) 565-3066 you'll reach our after-hours line for guidance. For life-threatening emergencies (uncontrolled bleeding, severe facial swelling affecting breathing), go to the nearest ER. For most other dental emergencies, we'll see you first thing Monday.

Will my emergency dental visit be covered by insurance?

+

Most major insurance plans (Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, Humana, United Healthcare) cover emergency dental visits. Medicare patients are welcome. Bring your insurance card and we'll verify benefits and explain your out-of-pocket cost before treatment begins.
