What Makes us different?
What is Digital Dentistry?
Digital Dentistry refers to use of computers and computer-controlled equipment to aid in dental procedures. Digital Dentistry can range from computer-aided diagnostic imaging to computer-aided design and fabrication of dental restorations.
Through the use of this technology, 2 major revolutionary advancements have occurred in the dental industry.
- IMPROVED EFFICIENCY
Dental procedures have become more streamlined thereby saving much cost and time. For example crowns and dentures can be done in a day when it used to take 3 weeks for crowns and 2 months for dentures. - IMPROVED ACCURACY
Problems with ill-fitting crowns and dentures were usually due to poor moldings or measurement. Digital scanning and 3D printing have taken away much of environmental and human errors to provide patients laser precision fit in shorter time setting.
An example of how we would digitally create a custom night guard:
- A scan of the mouth is made using a digital scanner.
- 3D images from the digital scan are used to design the night guard.
- A 3D print is made with biocompatible resin.
Advancements in Digital Dentistry: Precision, Efficiency, and Affordability
We take advantage of this digital workflow for designing and fabricating crowns, dentures, implant prothesis, Clear aligners (Inivisalign), digital smile simulation for Cosmetic Dentistry, etc.
Ever since we have embraced “Digital Dentistry”, we were able to provide extreme precision in a fraction of a time for majority of dental procedures. Our practice pushes the envelope of digital dentistry by doing in-house digital designs and 3D printing that results in faster turnaround and offering more variety of procedures at a lower cost. A prime is example is the Clear Aligner Invisible Braces (ie: Invisalign). Our in-house design and 3D printing allow us to offer it all patients at a fraction of the cost of typical clear aligner braces.
We do not believe that using leading-edge tech to provide a better crown, veneer, etc. should result in higher costs to the patients. Instead, it should lead to efficiency and simplicity to both patients and doctor.
