What Are All-on-4 Implants?

The All-On-4 procedure, also known as "Teeth in a Day," offers patients the opportunity to have their remaining teeth removed, implants placed, and a fully functional smile all in a single day! This procedure not only enhances the appearance of patients' smiles but also rejuvenates their outlook on life. Many individuals struggle with issues such as severe tooth decay, deteriorating dental work, and broken teeth. For these people, the All-On-4, "Teeth in a Day" procedure provides an ideal solution to achieve a new smile and address ongoing dental issues.

Natural-Looking, Permanent Dental Implants for Enhanced Functionality

  • Natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing dental implants that resemble natural teeth in appearance and texture.
  • Permanent solution that stays in the mouth without the need for removal like dentures.
  • No long healing times required before you can start using your dental implants.
  • Does not cover the roof of the mouth.
  • Offers the best chewing ability compared to other options for replacing a full arch or full mouth of teeth.
  • Ideal for individuals with limited bone, perfect for those with insufficient bone for traditional implants.
  • Enhances your food tasting experience.

How it Works

This process involves extracting any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants per arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to those implants. The strategic positioning of the implants avoids the sinuses, eliminating the need for costly bone grafts and lengthy healing periods.

Our dentist has enhanced the traditional All-On-4 procedure by tailoring it to individual patients based on their expertise, resulting in improved outcomes. At Indiana Dentures and Implants, we carefully evaluate each case and customize our treatment to suit the patient's unique anatomy. Your dentist will insert between four and six implants per arch, and temporary fixed bridges will be installed while your implants fuse with your jawbones and your mouth heals. Once the healing process is finished, the dentist and lab technician will craft your final teeth using zirconia, a material that is stronger and more natural-looking than acrylic denture teeth. Zirconia is also more hygienic and resistant to staining, ensuring that your teeth last longer and look better than traditional acrylic/titanium bridges.

Am I a Candidate?

During a free consultation, your doctor can determine if you are a candidate for All-On-4, or "Teeth in a Day," even if you have been told you do not have enough bone for dental implants. By utilizing a combination of straight and angled implants to avoid the sinuses and utilize the strongest bone, your doctor can often eliminate the need for costly and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

1

Mouth Impressions

The lab uses these tools to make your temporary implant bridge(s). If you are missing most or all of the teeth in the treated arch, the doctor might suggest a wax try-in. This includes a model of your temporary implant bridge to check bite alignment, appearance, and other aspects.

2

Procedure

The process includes removing teeth if needed, placing implants, and fitting temporary implant bridges. Generally, this procedure takes 4-7 hours to finish.

3

Post Op #1

Please keep an eye on the healing process following the procedure and feel free to ask any questions you may have.

4

Post Op #2

During the appointment scheduled for 3 weeks after the procedure, the sutures will be taken out and the healing progress will be assessed. Patients are usually given the green light to begin using a water flosser/WaterPik at this point.

5

Impressions for Final Teeth

It has been 4 months since the procedure.

6

Try In

We will create a mock-up of your final teeth within 5-10 days of impressions. In certain situations, multiple wax try-ins may be required. It is crucial that you are completely satisfied with your wax try-ins before we move forward with processing them. Once the try-ins are processed, no changes can be made. If you choose to make alterations to your bridge(s) after approval and fabrication, a full-cost remake charge will be applied.

7

Seat Final Teeth

Once the wax try-in(s) are approved, it usually takes 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be prepared for seating.
