What Are All-on-4 Implants?

The All-On-4 procedure, also referred to as "Teeth in a Day," allows patients to have their remaining teeth extracted, implants inserted, and a fully functional smile all in just one day! This procedure not only improves the look of patients' smiles but also revitalizes their perspective on life. Many people face challenges with severe tooth decay, deteriorating dental work, and broken teeth. For these individuals, the All-On-4, "Teeth in a Day" procedure is the perfect solution to obtain a new smile and address ongoing dental problems.

Natural-Looking, Permanent Dental Implants for Enhanced Functionality

  • Dental implants that are the most natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing, resembling natural teeth in appearance and texture.
  • Permanent solution that stays in the mouth without the need for removal like dentures.
  • No long healing times required before you can start using your dental implants.
  • Does not cover the roof of the mouth.
  • Offers the best chewing ability compared to other options for replacing a full arch or full mouth of teeth.
  • Ideal for individuals with limited bone, perfect for those with insufficient bone for traditional implants.
  • Enhances your food tasting experience.

How it Works

This process includes removing any remaining teeth, placing 4-6 implants per arch, and attaching a low-profile bridge to those implants. The implants are strategically positioned to avoid the sinuses, eliminating the need for expensive bone grafts and long healing times.

Our dentist has improved the traditional All-On-4 procedure by personalizing it based on their expertise, leading to better outcomes for patients. At Indiana Dentures and Implants, we carefully assess each case and customize our treatment to fit the patient's unique anatomy. Your dentist will place between four and six implants per arch and temporary fixed bridges will be put in place while your implants fuse with your jawbones and your mouth heals. Once the healing process is complete, the dentist and lab technician will create your final teeth using zirconia, a material that is stronger and more natural-looking than acrylic denture teeth. Zirconia is also more hygienic and resistant to staining, resulting in teeth that last longer and look better than traditional acrylic/titanium bridges.

Am I a Candidate?

Most patients, even those told they don't have enough bone for dental implants, can still have the procedure. By using a mix of straight and angled implants to avoid the sinuses and utilize the strongest bone, your doctor can often avoid the need for expensive and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts. Your doctor will assess your suitability for All-On-4, or "Teeth in a Day," during a free consultation.

All-On-4 Procedure Timeline

1

Mouth Impressions

The lab utilizes these tools to create your temporary implant bridge(s). In cases where you are missing all or most of the teeth in the treated arch, the doctor may recommend a wax try-in. This involves a mock-up of your temporary implant bridge to assess bite alignment, aesthetics, and other factors.

2

Procedure

The procedure involves extracting teeth if necessary, inserting implants, and placing interim implant bridges. Typically, this process takes 4-7 hours to complete.

3

Post Op #1

Please monitor the healing progress after the procedure and do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have.

4

Post Op #2

At the appointment 3 weeks after the procedure, the sutures will be removed and the healing will be checked. Typically, patients are cleared to start using a water flosser/WaterPik at this time.

5

Impressions for Final Teeth

It has been 4 months since the procedure.

6

Try In

Within 5-10 days of impressions, we will create a mock-up of your final teeth. In some cases, multiple wax try-ins may be necessary. It is important that you are fully satisfied with your wax try-ins before we proceed with processing them. Once the try-ins are processed, changes cannot be made. If you decide to make changes to your bridge(s) after approval and fabrication, a full-cost remake charge will apply.

7

Seat Final Teeth

After you approve the wax try-in(s), it typically takes 4-6 weeks for your bridge or bridges to be prepared for seating.
